WHAT IS SIL

Independent Living Options
SIL is for participants who live in a shared HVS home and need regular, ongoing support. HVS currently operates four SIL houses — Casey, Kennedy, Springdale, and Wilder — all in the Upper Hunter region. Support workers are available 24/7 and assist with things like personal care, meal preparation, medication management, household routines, and getting out into the community. The focus is on building routines, life skills, and confidence in a home that genuinely feels like yours.
ILO is more flexible. Rather than a shared house, ILO supports you to design a living arrangement that suits how and where you want to live — whether that's alone, with friends, with a host, or with drop-in support at times that work for you. It's built around maximising independence while making sure you have the right support to live safely and confidently.
